85% of the funding went to U.S. organizations in Egypt

On the other hand, newspaper «The Christian Science Monitor» U.S. for a U.S. official as saying: «The U.S. assistance programs seek to get ideas from the Egyptians», saying that Washington is making a great effort to find out what you need in Egypt now. The paper disclosed that about 85% of U.S. funding to Egypt already gone to U.S. organizations in Egypt, such as the National Democratic Institute and International Republican Institute, to help support political parties before elections.
The newspaper pointed to the United States announced the distribution of $ 65 million in grants directly to the pro-democracy groups last March, sparked angry reactions from the Egyptian government and the military junta.
